Housing

The Foundation’s activities will include encouraging adequate housing for low- or very low-income individuals and families. Towards this end, it is anticipated that The Foundation will provide information and assistance to tenants of public housing projects as to their rights and responsibilities. The Foundation will also provide financial planning and budget planning information to these same individuals. The Foundation will also instruct the general public on the importance of, and advocate for, adequate housing for low- and very low-income individuals and families.

Economic Development

In furtherance of its charitable goals to provide relief for the poor and/or the underprivileged, The Foundation will participate in the Section 3 Program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Act of 1868. The Section 3 Program is designed to provide low- or very low-income residents of housing projects with job training, employment and contract opportunities. The ultimate goal is to move the residents to self-sufficiency and homeownership. The Foundation will work with public housing residents or individuals with the knowledge to start new businesses and provide employment to public housing residents. Moreover, through further education of entrepreneurs, The Foundation aims to ensure the sustainability of these new businesses.
