Friday, April 1, 2022, The Ohio State University SPHINX surprised Keith Key as an honorary Link during its 116th Class ceremony. SPHINX is the oldest honorary at The Ohio State University, founded in 1907. Sphinx at The Ohio State University boasts a heritage of pride and tradition stronger than any other organization on campus. SPHINX bestowed membership onto the 24 students and three honorary members selected by the Class of 2021 for upholding the highest ideals of scholarship, leadership, camaraderie, citizenship, and service at The Ohio State University. Every year the latest class of the organization passes the challenge of SPHINX onto new and capable persons, in the hope that their love for the University and concern for its betterment will continue to live and prosper in the future classes of SPHINX.
The day began with the surprise linking and then the traditional stroll down the “Oval” where the honorees were linked to a previous SPHINX member. Directly after the invocation the honorees were introduced by OSU student, Ose Arheghan, and a brief bio of how their work has inducted them into one of the most prestigious organizations on campus, SPHINX.
Lastly, guests, family and friends were directed to the ballroom in the Ohio Union where each guest enjoyed a three-course lunch which kicked-off the remainder of the program. Keith Key was named the “Philanthropic Link”, was gifted a Sphinx plaque, and officially inducted into the 116th SPHINX Honorary Links Class. His next order of business will be to locate his honorary Link that will uphold the mission of SPHINX.
